Edward hears about this and goes to be with Carter. The cancer has spread to Carter's brain. He undergoes surgery that is unsuccessful and he dies. Edward finishes the bucket list without Carter and dies many years later at 81.

This movie relates to our class and Chapter 11, Stress and Health. This movie is obviously related to health because both of the main characters, Carter and Edward, are both diagnosed with terminal lung cancer. This movie deals with the stress they have because they both know they will die from the lung cancer. A way of coping with the stress they make a bucket list of all the things they want to do before they die and they actually accomplish everything on the list.

This movie relates to our class through Chapter 9, Motivaiton and Emotion. Bella is filled with so much emotion throughout this movie. She's in love with Edward and he leaves and she is depressed and heartbroken for months. She is also motivated to see Edward so she does dangerous activities for him to appear to her.

Paranormal Activity (2007)

The movie Paranormal Activity is an American horror film that is about a young couple Kaitie and Micah who live in a two story house and are being haunted by a supernatural presence. The movie is presented in the style of "found footage", set up by the couples video camera to catch what is haunting them. They hire a psychic to asses the hauntings and find out its a demon rather than a ghost. From the video camera the hauntings are small at first but then gradually increase with danger after Micah taunts the demon.

This movie relates to Chapter 4, Consciousness: Sleep, Dreams, Hypnosis, and Drugs. The movie is basically the couple going to sleep each night with the video camera set up to catch the hauntings from the demon. During the movie Kaitie gets up while she is still sleeping and watches her boyfriend, Micah, still asleep. She then walks downstairs and sits outside for a while. This was the demon haunting her but basically she is sleep walking. As the movie Kaitie suffers from a lack of sleep deprivation, which is a topic found in Chapter 4. She is scared to sleep from the hauntings.

Precious (2009)

The movie Precious takes place in 1987 with the main character as an obese, illiterate, 16 year old names Claireece "Precious" Jones (Gabourey Sidibe) who lives in the ghetto of Harlem with his dysfunctional and abusive mother Mary. Precious has been impregnated by her father, Carl, twice who suffers from a long term physical, sexual, and mental abuse from her unemployed mother. After finding out she is pregnant the second time she is suspended from school, and has to attend an alternative school. To get through her traumatic times she uses imagination and fantasy. From her going to the alternative school, Precious learns to read.

I chose this movie because it deals with Chapters 5, Learning, and also Chapter 11, Stress and Health. When Precious attends the alternative school she learns to read so therefor this movie deals with learning. This movie also deals with Stress and Health because Precious' life is full of stress and health issues. She has been abused her whole life and is obese. She copes with stress by using imagination and fantasy.

The Butterfly Effect (2004)

The movie The Butterfly Effect is an American psychological thriller. The title is a reference to the butterfly effect which is a metaphor that encapsulates the idea that if one were to make small changes while going back to the past, the resulting changes to the present would be large and various. Evan Treborn (Ashton Kutcher) suffered severe tramas as a boy and teenager. He would often black out during moments of high stress. While in his dorm room reading one of his journals to a girl, he finds that when he reads from his adolescent journals, he travles back in time and is able to essentially "redo" parts of his past, thereby causing the blackouts he experienced as a child. There are consequences for the changes he makes. He gets brain damage from all the new memories that are formed when he makes the small changes in the past and he soon realizes albeit his intentions are good, bad things begin to happen.

I chose this movie is because it relates to our class very well. In this movie, Evan Treborn (Ashton Kutcher) has a disorder. He suffers from severe tramas that causes him to black out. this relates to Chapter 14, Psychological Disorders and the section I would categorize this is 14.6, Dissociative Disorders: Altered Consciousness.
